Web Client – Passing custom attributes to api.html

Typically api.html page is displayed in an iFrame. Based on your needs you can pass custom attributes to api.html based on your requirements.

In this article we pass visitor location (custom attribute) to the api.html.

1.    Append custom attribute (location)  to the api.html page URL
2.    Update api.html page source to retrieve value of custom attribute (i.e. location).
Add the following lines in the HTML body tag:

//declare a JavaScript variable and assign it value of the custom attribute
var visitorlocation = getParameter('location',url);
//get rid of escape characters
visitorlocation = myunescape(visitorlocation);

Now the visitorlocation JavaScript variable can be used as per your business logic.

Integrate IMtegrity Sametime Chat Logging with EMC Legato

How do we integrate Instant IMtegrity with our EMC Legato application? We'd like to have our Sametime chat conversations copied into EMC's Legato so that we can search our Sametime chat conversations from a central location.

IMtegrity version 4.x includes a new feature that inspects new chat conversations and compares the conversation against a set of custom action rules. These action rules may inspect the IBM Lotus Sametime conversation for keywords, participants, data/time values, or other properties.  As part of the IMtegrity action rule component, Sametime conversations may also be mailed to administrators, managers, or submitted to a Lotus Notes 'mail in' database for further review or storage.

In order to provide Legato with a copy of the Sametime conversation, create an action rule for IMtegrity where all chat conversations, or only specific conversations, are automatically mailed to the exjournal.nsf database.

The IMtegrity configuration database is named: imtconfig.nsf and it is located on the same server as the imtchatlog4.nsf database.

The following is the main screen of the IMtegrity configuration database (where action rules are created and managed):

Create the action rule by providing some basic settings:

Supply any custom criteria - for example, only copy conversations from people who are members of the Audit public group:

Specify the Audit group in the selection criteria area:

Specify the mail options - this will determine how IMtegrity mails the content to the exjournal.nsf database.

Determine the name of the 'user' that will act as the mail in database for the exjournal.nsf database:

In the following example, the exjournal user name has been configured in the Notes administration area to act as the mail in database username for the exjournal.nsf.  Your email address might be something similar to:
Exmail Admin/US/Acme

After the user name is provided that has been created to act as the mail in name for the exjournal.nsf, or exjournal1.nsf, some additional fields may be configured to provide a default subject and participant list.

After saving the action rule, enable the action rule and all subsequent conversations will be automatically forwarded to the exjournal.nsf where they will be imported into Legato

After the conversations are sent from IMtegrity to the exjournal.nsf, they will appear in the exjournal.nsf
